How do I copy the folders from my Yahoo POP account to my local system?

I set up the account in Thunderbird, for my Yahoo.com POP account, but I only see the Inbox in Thunderbird and none of the subfolders. How can I rectify this? I have filters set up already via the web-client (Browser) and many important emails get filtered to the folders rather than the top level Inbox.

POP cannot connect to the folders on a server. To do that you need to use IMAP.
