I keep getting a situation where any random site I'm on changes to a fullpage firefox image and stating that I need to do an urgent update, and a pop-up box appears telling me that I need to open the contained file and run it. The file address is https://mohngtipped.com. I've run a full antivirus and nothing is getting picked up, but the fact that the site just randomly pops up when Firefox can update on loading makes me think it's a fake. The only way I can get past the pop-up is to use Task Manager to close windows entirely.

Is it the fake that it seems like?

Many thanks

. Whenever you get a message / popup that software / files need to be updated;

DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS

While this may be a legitimate message, it could also be Malware or a Virus. Anytime you want or need to check for upgrades, go to the website of the True Owner of the program in question. For example, to check out Firefox, go to https://www.mozilla.org {web link}

You can report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery
