why does the app for android want my hardware contols (camera and audio, etc)?
Mozilla says they're respectful of my privacy, so why do you want to use my phone's camera and audio FOR ANY REASON? I want to get away from Google because it's invasive...but the "permissions" that Firefox wants are just as bad. Is there a way to install without this unreasonable demand?
Chosen solution
Hi,
Please read how we use permissions below
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-firefox-android-use-permissions-it-requests
We only request camera and microphone when you selectively opt-into providing camera and microphone for sites that make use of WebRTC (see http://www.webrtc.org/). We provide an in browser drop-down dialog where you can select your camera and microphone. This is only on supports which support such a feature (which is part of the HTML5 Draft Specifications) e.g, https://apprtc.appspot.com
Hope that clears that up.
