I bring back up this question that someone already asked in the past - the problem I have is already accurately described here:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/929799

I am still unable to change the volume in YouTube by the volume control keys on my keyboard, with the current version of the Adobe Flash plugin (11,6,602,168). Don't want to use HTML5 version of YouTube, as it is still causing troubles. Neither I want to get back to Flash 10.3 or so. Does not occur with IE5 or other browsers. Any way to solve this?

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:

  • disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
  • disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Thank you cor-el, it was super-easy! Just had to add line "ProtectedMode=0" into file "mms.cfg". :) Great, it's working fine now!
