bookmarks toolbar has a problem--not displaying properly
In FF versions 12 and 13, my Bookmarks Toolbar behavior is very problematic. When I open a new window (or when FF opens for the first time), there is a space for the bookmarks toolbar, but it is blank, even though the option is checked to display it. If I uncheck that option and re-check it, it is fine, but I would have to do this 20 times a day if I hadn't backtracked and reinstalled version 11 (where it worked just fine). I know I can't keep using version 11 forever. What could be the problem here, and how can I fix it? Note that I have used versions 12 and 13 on other computers and it behaves just fine there.

Hi,
You can try to Reset toolbars and controls: and Make Changes and Restart in the Safe Mode start screen. If the problem persists in v13, you can consider the Reset Firefox feature via Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information.
Hi dumdidadida, Thanks very much for your reply, and sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I tried the Reset toolbars and controls option you suggested, but it didn't work. I would like to try the Reset Firefox option, but I am concerned because I have made a number of changes in about:config that I am afraid will get discarded, unless I manually go in and change them all (which would of course entail having some kind of record of my current settings). What are my options here? Is there a way to "save" all of my about:config settings and "load" them after I reset? Or is there a way (besides multiple screenshots) to save a list of all of the settings that are not default so I can go back in and manually change things later? Many thanks again! (P.S. FF v14 does the same behavior.)

Amazingly enough, that worked! Thanks!!!
You're welcome.
Nice to know :)
As for the question: Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information has a section Important Modified Preferences. You can copy that to a file or take a printout. To take a full backup of the modified values you would have to copy prefs.js file in the Firefox Profile Folder. To open the profile folder via Firefox: Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information > Show Folder.
