Firefox hangs when downloading

I have Firefox version 3.6.3. When downloading files, it hangs and will not respond. I shut it down using Task Manager and restart. It then finishes the download. I have used the resources on this site and deleted the download history, changed the download folder, and deleted the download.sqlite file from the Firefox profile folder. It still hangs when downloading.

Try using a download manager like downthemall.
