Somehow I got Adblock Plus and it's been nothing but trouble. First I noticed ads that weren't there before, then it kept opening new windows about just downloading ABP and it won't keep my settings. Last week I wrote an email asking for help and didn't get a reply. This ABP Plus is a MESS.

1. It won't keep my settings.

2. Right now I have no fewer than 5 "Installation" tabs in my browser. How do I make them STOP? It started after this last time that I updated your program.

3. Right now I don't even know if it's working right. How can I go back to the last version that didn't foul up?

Today, I went to Firefox website and was going to download to plain old Adblock but that page said it was not monitored. see attachment. So I went to the Mozilla website. see attachment. When I clicked on "Recommended extensions may also be found while browsing with FF...." it took me to a page that didn't have anything about AdBlock. Over an hour later, I ended up right back where I started from. I'm exhausted and I give up trying to follow links that take me back again and trying to describe how it's taking me round in circles. How do I go back to the old AdBlock? It worked well for me, didn't make me reset every time I open my browser and actually blocked ads. Firefox, Windows 8.1 latest versions. Please reply in simple English I am a senior and techy words just make my head swim. If someone replies and I don't reply back, it may be that I can't get on the internet, the wifi here is lousy at best and most of the time, not at all. I try to get on the internet several times a day, if someone replies I will reply as soon as I can. Don't give up on me. Thanks, Bernadine

Disable Adblock Plus, is the problem still there?
What is displayed on the unwanted pages?

If I were to uninstall Adblock Plus, that would solve the problem of it opening a new "you just installed ABP" window every time I open my browser. Or at least I would hope so. The problem is that it doesn't recognize that it's been installed and the settings have been set, dozens of times now - each time I open my browser. I guess my basic question is: where do I find an approved download of Adblock, basic old version of Adblock, so I can get rid of this new, and what someone must think is "improved" version called Adblock Plus. I rue every time someone says something is new and improved. Ugh. Give me the old and reliable version every time. Thanks for trying though. Bernadine

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

If you still have problems, contact their support.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean, never heard of Advanced SystemCare and wouldn't know what other "such software" could possibly be. I didn't have this problem until I updated Adblock this last time. Nothing else has changed. Before that everything was stable and consistent. So it has to be a problem with Adblock. And "if I still have problems", yes I still have problems with this new Adblock Plus, so you say contact their support...who's support, I thought that is what I am doing, contacting Adblock support. If that isn't the case and I'm wasting my time trying to ask clear questions and give good information, please tell me who to contact.

But we have absolute confidence in the open source community behind ... There is nothing you can or need to do, other than wait for Firefox to update, ... but it's great to know what it was, and, more importantly, that ABP kept us up-to-date. ... Just found this important info from Mozilla,
