In add-ons settings what is the difference between "Default" and "On"?

'Default' uses the setting you choose as the default setting.

'On' or 'Off' overrides the default setting.

Fred, thanks for the response. Am not sure what the default settings are, so I have changed from "Default" to "On" in automatic updates to add-ons.
