How do enable Video downloader prime to catch the entire video streaming and not just segments like Flashgot used to be able to do?

I have a problem loading the entire length of a video using VDP. I have a video streaming on the page, enable VDP and it only captures small little segments of the video, like 3mb, 200kb, 1.0mb of like a 40mb file. When i had Flashgot just clicking on it, it would begin the entire video download. My DSL line appears to be pretty fast and uninterrupted as viewed on the page. Shouldn't VDP be able to download the entire length of a video and not just portions as it is streamed? Is there a setting?
