mistyping a word results in a capital letter being inserted instead of lower case letter during correction
The quick bRown fox juMped over the lAzy dOg's back
he above is an example of what happens when composing an email message and a word is miss-typed but then when going back to correct the letter inserted to correct is a capital letter then followed by lower case letters. This only happens when using Thunderbird email client. Any solutions? Thanks

If you manually use the left and right arrow keys to move the cursor into location then either highlight letter or use 'backspace' to delete it and reinsert etc or use the mouse to highlight the incorrect letter, the only way to insert a capital letter into a lowercase word is either you have switched on 'Caps Lock' or you are depressing the 'Shift' key whilst selecting the correct keyboard letter.
Are you correcting using a different method? eg: Are you right clicking on the highlighted misspelt word and selecting from a drop down selection?
or clicking on 'Spelling' button to open the 'Check Spelling' window ? If yes, what dictionary are using?
Does the same occur if you restart Thunderbird in 'Safe Mode' ?
In Thunderbird
'Help' > 'Restart with Addons disabled'
Thank you for the reply. I started Thunderbird in Safe Mode and the problem was corrected so it must have something to do with an add-on. I will restart in normal mode and turn off some add-ons manually so see which one is the culprit.
please post your results. it is always good to know which add-ons have caused folk trouble.
