Every couple of seconds, the currently selected tab loses focus and I have to reclick it to bring the emphasis back. It just started, and it is infuriating.

Does this mean focus goes to another tab or another window, or to nothing?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
