Hi Jarrus:

My guess is you installed Firefox 43 manually.

Ah right the Amazon Kindle Fire! Not officially supported by us sad face!

For various reasons that I don't really remember (something about altering our software?!?) we at Mozilla don't offer Firefox on the Fire officially.

This article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/installing-firefox-android-amazon-kindle-fire has instructions. BUT it is out date because aurora is no longer recommended. I recommend beta or nightly.

Cheers!

Hi Jarrus, Thank you for your question, I understand that when you go to sign in to Firefox Syc menu that you see a message, "There was a problem".

Please remove the account from the Firefox Sync account then close Firefox.

  1. Open Firefox back up and go to: [about:accounts?action=signup&entrypoint=preferences]
  2. There will be an email sent to your email address, where you can click a link that will redirect you and start the Firefox Sync session.
  3. Please still click on "Confirm sign-in" in the email. (However when I tested it, I also received a notification on the device that redireced me to menu.)

Did this help?

Hi Jarrus: if @guig's advice doesn't help please let us know:

1. what version of Android you are running 2. what version of Firefox for Android (seems like it is 53, maybe try 54 if that is the case)?

Cheers!

Hmm, well that is probably it. It says 43 is my version. However it also says there are no updates available. Which is why I havn't updated it yet. Where else can I find the updates? Thanks.

Note: I did try resigning up like guig suggested - no luck

Hi Jarrus:

Are you on 53 or 43?

Regardless 54 should be available soon (it's available to a few percent of our customers; we usually upgrade just a few per cent of our customers for the first week and then go to 100% later) and the only way to upgrade is to use the Google Play Store app (you can't upgrade from Firefox if you installed Firefox from the Google Play Store app)

Cheers!

Unfortunately, it seems I haven't updated in a while and I am on 43. The problem is I am actually on fire os and cannot use the google play store. The question is since I have been happily using this version of Firefox for some time , including sync before I got signed out, where did I install it from originally if its only on the play store?
