Each of the extensions appears in it's own tab and I have to check the box and restart Firefox. I have narrowed the extensions down to AdBlock, Last Pass, and Smilies just to make the whole thing move along more quickly. It's a pain in the butt. Any suggestions?

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

After, restart Firefox.

See "Corrupt extension files":

Thanks. I followed your instructions and reinstalled the extensions anew, but the situation just happened again. So, I guess that wasn't it. Anything else come to mind?

Is this still a problem?

Perhaps this was that one last time. The problem was intermediate. I could launch Firefox five or six times with no sweat, and then, Boom there it was. I will have to give it some time. Thanks for the quick reply.

Guess not. After starting fine seven or eight times, Firefox just required me to reauthorize each of my extensions. Any other ideas?

I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename/remove the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases.

If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:

Sorry guys, this went right over my head. Do you have an "Idiot's Guide" version?

I've got a prefs.js.lpbak file, and a number of .json files, including a signedinuser.json, but no user.js
