Missing 3 weeks of history and bookmarks

Hello

Today when I open Firefox I noticed my bookmarks were old bookmarks and arranged how I had them last month. During December I created new folders and added bookmarks and they are all gone along with the history. The history goes from November then it stops then its from today. The first weeks of December are missing. My bookmarks restore options are from November or today but I had many bookmarks from the first 2 weeks of December I already tried looking in the profile folder nothing is there is almost empty and the places.sqlite folder is also missing.

I have tried almost everything on the other topics. Anyone knows if there is something else I cant try to recover the bookmarks and/or history?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Places Maintenance {web link} Allows to run Maintenance tasks on the database that drives Places, the bookmarks and history module behind Firefox.

Open the Add-ons Manager. Locate the add-on and press the Options button. Select All of the tests. Then press Execute on the bottom.

History and cookies can be removed or not recorded several ways;

  • 1) Running Firefox in Private Mode (nothing is recorded)
  • 2) Privacy settings
    (Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar.)
  • 3) Many disk cleaners and anti-virus type programs can remove data from browsers. Open their settings and have them leave the browsers alone.
  • 4) Mal-ware.

What JSON backups do you have in the bookmarkbackups folder?

  • Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Restore.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.

If the Places Maintenance extension can't repair the places.sqlite database then remove all places.sqlite file(s) in the Firefox profile folder to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder. You may have to restore an older backup.

The name of a JSON bookmarks backup file includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once.
