i did not expect to lose my bookmarks and my tabs with new version install. i want to go back to my older version. how can i do it? in most easy way please.
my old stored data is all gone with new version.

Hi, you are already using an old version of Firefox, which can compromise your security. To update it to v42, open the 3-bar menu > Help (question mark at bottom right) > About Firefox.
To recover bookmarks you can try this: Open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Restore, and see if you have a backup there.

You can check if you have multiple profiles folders in case a new profile got created.
You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder and go up one level.

It is also possible the Firefox did a Refresh/Reset and created a new profile that way.
When you Refresh/Reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data) is automatically imported. The current profile folder will be moved to an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop. Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, prefs) that you have made are lost and need to be redone.
It is possible to recover data from the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
