I was composing an email when I must have pressed some combination of keys which changed my Mozilla to where I don't have any of my bookmarks.

I have checked the "Profile" section and found only 1 profile. It had no information. It was dated today. I would sure appreciate any help in finding out how to have my bookmarks back. Thank you very much!

I'm trying to think of a combination of keys that might do that, but nothing is coming to mind.

If you have not yet closed Firefox since this occurred, then try the Undo command in the Library dialog. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+b
  • "Show All Bookmarks"

On the Edit menu, if Undo is enabled, try Undo and see whether you get any bookmarks back.

If not, next two questions:

(1) While you're in the Library dialog, are any recent dates listed on the "Restore" menu? You can check that using the steps in this article: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

(2) Can you find an "Old Firefox Data" folder on your desktop? If so, please check inside for a semi-randomly-named folder and look inside that. Are those files freshly updated from around the time of the incident?

If so, you probably triggered the Refresh feature by accident and we'll have to step you through the process of recovering that data. For example: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1080510#answer-773646
