Cant find 'about: crashes' using address bar

My issue is with Firefox (35.0.1) constantly crashing, I try to find my submitted crash reports but cannot find 'about: crashes' using the address bar as directed by Mozilla. I type 'about: crashes' and end up with 'The address is not valid'. My browser has crashed between 25 to 30 times during the last 6 days, I have submitted reports each time and on 6 occasions I also submitted my address to receive a reply, none has been forthcoming. The home PC is used by a few of us while the kids use their own laptops, in order to save time logging in and out, we each use a different browser. Nobody in our family has any issues with IE or Chrome on the home PC, nor do the kids. The only person having any trouble is the poor sap who drew the short straw - me.

Can I get an honest bit of advice? during my searching these constant crashes, I see many, many others have had the same problem, and for quite some years apparently. Should I simply accept that this is part and parcel of using Firefox and be sure to take a couple of drops of Valium in my tea before logging on? or perhaps the healthier choice, find a.n.other browser and move everything over there? I am asked to auto add info and will, but understand I am not using the Firefox browser to do this now as it has just crashed - seriously.

Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers, click it and select Submit.

@ Ideato & Fred Thank-you both very much for your replies

Ideato, that worked a treat, though it was grim reading, 16 crashes between the 19th and 21st of Feb. I hope you don't think me rude not marking as solved, I will happily of course, but want the bigger problem sorted and fear any 'solved' tick will prevent this.

Fred, most do begin with BP, there are two beginning with numbers and one has B1, among dozens with BP I assume I need not submit these.

Here are the last few in case it can help anyone?

Hi Herb, if you have Norton Confidential and/or Trusteer Rapport try to update to latest and check it again.

I like what you said :

Should I simply accept that this is part and parcel of using Firefox and be sure to take a couple of drops of Valium in my tea before logging on?

but, no, i think someone contributor he/she can find a solution.

Yes, i always said : Life is dead without humor ! :-)

thanks again

The crash report flagged these programs;

dahelper.dll = Desktop Assistant

Rooksbas.DLL = Windows

RapportTanzan.dll = Rapport

RapportUtil.dll = Rapport

ccL120U.dll = Symantec

ipseng32.dll = Symantec Intrusion Detection

IPSLdr32.dll = Symantec Intrusion Detection

icudt52.dll = International Components for Unicode

coFFPl34.dll = Norton Identity Safe

coWPPlg.dll = Norton Confidential

Perform a System File Check to fix corrupted system files http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

See if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

I would advice you to remove the Norton and Rapport programs, and download the current full installers.

You are both very kind to continue to help me get over my little problem, thanks again fellas or ladies (I really shouldn't just assume, you'd think I'd learned my lesson after my Thailand snafu ;o) )

OK, off we go again, I will work my way through all your suggestions and hopefully see an end to this problem.

Just in case it makes any difference, I use Norton 360 btw. Thanks again you two, I appreciate you taking this time to check all those crash reports and for suggesting these possible fixes, you are both stars. Herb

Hello, please excuse the late reply, I wanted to be certain my problem was solved before I signed off on this. ( however, not wishing to tempt fate I now keep a pencil behind my ear when using Firefox so I am constantly 'touching wood'. )

I followed both ideato and Fred's advice and am delighted to say I am now able to use my browser without the use of Valium (other tranquilizers are available) or any other calming influence.

Unfortunately, I cannot say with any certainty which of the umpteen fixes I tried actually did the trick. The scannow showed no problems and as the crashes continued it became impossible to fix and test each suggestion. I decided to just remove everything I can use in another browser. Sadly I didn't discover the Refresh Firefox until later or I could have saved some time there, we live and learn huh! Actually I did learn a number of things I now use daily which made my journey very worthwhile.

I do appreciate the suggestions our two hero's posted, I have yet to hear from Mozilla/Firefox and could have possibly whizzed my laptop out of the window by now. I will now mark this as solved and hope it is possible to do so for both ideato and Fred. In the event I can mark only one I apologise and write this to make it clear.

I am hoping I don't need this forum anytime soon, but I'll know who to search for if I do. Thanks again, warmest regards Herb

Thank you also Herb. Please, if you need anything, just ask, definitely someone contributor will help you. (and....hey......keep the Valium...away) :-):-):-)
