On my old iMac, Firefox remembered sites I had visited and filled them in, like if I typed A it would autofill Amazon. This is not happening on my new 2023 iMac and I can't figure out how to turn this on. Also, I could see my site visit history on my old iMac, but this field is blank, with no history of sites visited shown, on my new machine. Help is appreciated. Please keep in mind that I am technically retarded and need step by step guidence. Thank you in advance for your help

I installed one of the ad blockers, I can't remember which one. It's given me so much trouble that I thought to disable or delete it. I deleted the little icon ( a stop sign) that shows up on the far right of one of the menu bars (don't know the name of that bar but here it's the second one down). But websites still complain that I have an ad blocker. I've gone to 'add-ons and themes' but I can't find it. BTW, what's the difference between an add-on, a plug-in and an extension? Which one of those are ad blockers? How can I see and then delete whichever blocker I still have? Without the icon I can't even disable it for individual sites.

Outlook recently made Edge or Chrome the default browser, with no possibility (as far as I can see) of choosing Firefox. In Outlook FILE/OPTIONS/ADVANCED, it seem impossible to choose Firefox.
How can I make Firefox the default browser. This situation occurred after recent update (October 2023).
Any help would be appreciated. -- JGS

Hi All,
For some reason my tab icons look a little low, and I would like them more vertically centered.
I've been trying to move these icons around using some older code that doesn't seem to work anymore.
The code below no longer has any effect.
Does anyone know how to move the tab icons up 1 pixel?
Thanks!
/* padding doesn't move them */ .tab-throbber, .tab-icon-image { padding-bottom: 4px !important; }
/* margin doesn't move them */ .tab-throbber, .tab-icon-image { margin-bottom: -2px !important; }
/* can't even turn the icons off LOL */ .tab-icon-image { display:none !important; }
Is there a way to remove the Extensions Icon from the tool bar?
I'm currently on version 107.0a1 of Firefox Nightly.

Hello. Since a few years I was using 2 FF instances. Profile1 (default) triggered by "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" Profile2 triggered by "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox1.exe" -P Mike -no-remote -no-deelevate I could start profile 2, than profile 1 and corresponding icons on Windows 7 taskbar were lit.
Out of the blue today when I start profile2 shortcut icon from profile1 is lit and I can't start profile 1. When I start Profile1 I can run also Profile2 and corresponding icons on taskbar are lit.
There were no hardware nor software changes on that PC. How to get back possibility to run 2 instances of FF? Mike

I have a website that open pop-ups automatically using javascript. That is the expected behaviour of it. So I went into Firefox options and made an exception for that site. If I go to the site and wait so it can do its thing, it opens about a few of them, and then Firefox decides that the rule I have set up is garbage, and firefox decides to ignore it and block the pop-ups from the site.
Why?
Why on Earth does Firefox decides that he must do something against the rule that the user has set up. Why does it have this completely disrespect to the user settings?
I am honestly really mad at whoever decided that ignoring an exception from the user was the default behaviour.
Now, if someone knows enough what is going on they will tell me, go to about:config, go to this obscure command and change its value, value which I can't know without coming here and ask. If I create an exception, then I am in my right to expect that the browser should do exactly as the exception has been configured.
By the way I have tried with the troubleshooting mode and still happens.

Firefox 114 introduced hidden support for nvidia video super resolution. In about:config you can enable preference gfx.webrender.super-resolution.nvidia to make it work. However I see 0 difference on all videos on all pages. I have everything in nvidia control panel set correctly (VSR enabled and set to 4/4 quality).
Tried to find more info online and someone on reddit complained that it worked before but it stopped working with latest firefox beta (probably before final 114 release): https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/13duluz/nvidia_video_super_resolution_comes_to_firefox/
I tried using logic too - if this pref is related to webrenderer in its name maybe it is not working because I am not using webrenderer? However I checked about:support and in section graphics->composition I have "webrenderer" so it seems I am using it, but its VSR feature is not working at all.

I view a lot of pdf documents via firefox, the light gray background makes my eyes and head hurt after prolonged usage. In the past I found a solution on this forum that advised to set pdfjs.viewerCssTheme to "2" in about:config. This set the background of pdf viewer to black/dark gray. This has worked for years until recently when the pdf viewer switched to light mode again (pic 1). I checked the about:config settings for pdfjs.viewerCssTheme but there appears to be no change. I tried restarting the browser, setting the theme to 0 and to 2 again, updating browser. Sadly the theme is still light gray. Is there a way to change it again? The desired outcome is in pic 2. I do NOT want to change the color of the pdf pages themselves.

I need to disable this horrible translator that is now showing up on top of every page I visit, It keeps showing up even after choosing a translation or disabling translations for that language. That is probably a bug, but I don't want to wait for a fix, I need to be able to see the pages I visit completely, this thing prevents me from clicking buttons and and is really anoying.
This is the built-in translation feature since I do not use any translation plugins, and started showing up after an upgrade.
where it is???? its not KDE issue, program removed itself minimize button, on chromium works

Hi, I'm a Firefox user since around 2004. Whenever I used FF i always opened multiple windows of FF. At some point Mozilla came out with Tabs. I don't use them and as a matter of fact I use the option under settings to open links in a new window (not tabs). Always have, Why? Habit I guess from the times I first starting using FF. I seriously don't use Tabs. I would like to Remove the Tab Bar from FF because of this reason and it frees up a lot of visual space on my browser. I've spent hours reading/searching/trying on "how" to remove or at least hide the Tab Bar. Waste of time so far, so I decided to Post the Question.
How Do I Hide or Remove the Tab Bar in FireFox?
Thanks For Everyone's Help in Advance:-)

I use the Quick Tabs Ported addon. Developement has stopped.
What's nice about it is that it's a combo toolbar button tab counter with a badge, as well as a tab session drop down menu with a search field (pretty much like the built-in "List all tabs").
My issue is that the menu is slow loading, and I was hoping I could find a replacement that can be customized to make the menu entries more compact (remove the spaces between tabs) and display in a proper order

The hotkey for add-on "600% sound volume" has been broken since the last version of 103. (now 105.0 still not fixed) The hotkey is "Ctrl+Shift+v", which opens the pop-up window of the add-on, and then it allows using arrow key and number to tweak the volume bar. Now all hotkey not working. The arrow keys do not work even if you manually open the pop-up window.
