i have a problem with Rightmove.co.uk webpages. On the webpage where you can see house plans, I zoom into the plan, and the plan just cannot be moved anymore and zoomed as well. I entered Firefox in troubleshooting mode without any extensions enabled and the same issue happened still. I tested the Brave and Chrome, no problems there. I tested Firefox latest version and also the ESR version, both had the same issue. Firefox crashes repeatedly on startup, even using safe mode fails 9 times in 10. Multiple crash reports submitted.

Firefox is the only application affected (latest 107.0.1, Windows 11 pro latest updates). I have updated all drivers, run system and memory checks, uninstalled deleted remaining files and registry settings, twice actually all to no avail.

I have recently changed ISP but cannot see how that affects just Firefox (Chrome/Opera/Edge all work) and also moved to Bit Defender antivirus. Here I think I saw startup installations in Chrome etc for bit defender but never for Firefox. I have tried turning off all virus web protection still no joy.

I have looked briefly at the crash reports but with my level of expertise I can see no common crash reason.

I have had no add-ins installed for last week while trying to get this to work again. I have used Firefox for years and have no wish to move to another browser but this situation is driving me nuts.

If there is anybody out there with any ideas on next steps I could take?

But as soon as I add Chrome folder and a css to enable multirow bookmarks folder. No website launches. Just white screen. Anyone experienced the same?

Please help as I really need multirow bookmarks. Thank you.

I have been running "Ancestry.com" on Firefox" for a number of years without any issues. The last few weeks if I open Ancestry to a window that shows a family tree the window freezes and I get a notice that says "This window is slowing down your browser" and it gives me a button with a "Stop" option. When I click the button the window unfreezes for one click and freezes again. This only happens in a "tree" window, the rest of the application works OK. I have done many of the troubleshooting steps, renew refresh, clear cache etc. with no improvement. I checked with "Ancestry" the recommend Firefox or Chrome. Trying Chrome there was no problem. My preference is Firefox as Chrome is to invasive.

I am running Windows 10 (up to date), an Asus Z87 Plus motherboard, an intel core i7-4770K cpu and a EVGA GTX 650 Ti Boost gpu with all drivers up to date. I have Firefox set as my default browser.

The "update you browser" has a link to "whatbrowser.org", which I believe is run by that horrid business, Google.

Has anyone struck this problem? Is there a solution?

I have closed Firefox & re-opened, I have rebooted the computer. No change.

For about the past week my Hotmail account, accessed through Outlook Live website, does not load it just brings up a white screen. I deleted all my temp files, and anything else I could think of that may be preventing it, but that did not work. In fact after doing this I have not been able to access my USAA account, it takes me to the log in screen and once I put in my user name it just keeps asking for the user name, it does not go any further. The pages are loading correctly with the Comodo IceDragon browser which I believe is very similar to Firefox.

I would very much like to get this issue resolved. I hope to get a response soon.

I saw the FAQ explanation about Windows 7, but I have been using Firefox for years including just hours ago using Windows 7. Why would this happen right now? Did some new version just get installed? If so, can I return to the prior version and turn off the automatic update?

What would I have to do to get this to stop? It surely can't be an intended interaction.

Error only happens on Foxfire Windows 11. Only began to happen recently. Bitdefender Total Security installed. Removed VPN because it was blocking valid secure sites. Bitdefender is installed on iPhone and Android cell phones. Cell phones are not a problem going to site.

On Windows, "https://" is added to the beginning of web address, but not on cell phones.

Tried removing security site, but does not load and "https://" is added back on the Windows page with error message above. Used to be able to go from one resortcams site to another, but error message appears after about 30 seconds.

Just recently, within the last two weeks (today is 12/22/23) Firefox it taking a long time to start. Firefox version is 121.0 (64 Bit) Windows 11 Home Ver: 22H2, OS Build 22621.2861 This is a reasonably new Acer Nitro PC (August 2023) with a solid state drive.

When I double click the Firefox Icon a large white box opens on my PC and remains that way for 10-15 seconds, then the white box fills-in with the Firefox screen. Once opened, Firefox works perfectly.

I tried the troubleshooter and Firefox starts instantly, as it did previously. I have no Extensions, Themes, or Plugins. I even disabled: OpenH264 Video Codec and Widevine Content Decryption Module. I tried Google and DuckDuck as the Search engine with no difference.

Any suggestions?

I am using Firefox on a Mac Mini, previously on Monterey but now on Sonoma.

Since about a month ago, any update of Firefox would cause a crash on start up, and the last working version is 118. The latest version of 121 has not fixed this problem.

Firefox would crash after a few seconds after starting up the app. I have attempted the following:

  • Creating a new profile or "Refresh Firefox": same crash.
  • Disabling extensions: same crash.
  • Troubleshoot mode: does not crash, but does not fix anything under normal mode.
  • Removing files related to Firefox before a clean install: same crash. I only deleted ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox and the app bundle – not sure if anything else could help.
  • Creating a new macOS user, and install Firefox: does not crash.

I am almost ok with wiping my profile just to be able to use Firefox again, but apparently I do not know the correct files to wipe.

Keeping mouse cursor over new tab button stops adress bar from updating

My problem is this: If I click on the open new tab button, and then I keep my cursor there, such that I get the little tooltip "Open a new tab (Ctrl+T)..." , Firefox wil… (funda kabanzi)

If I click on the open new tab button, and then I keep my cursor there, such that I get the little tooltip "Open a new tab (Ctrl+T)..." , Firefox will stop the address bar from updating---it won't show my keyboard inputs, not will it search, or do anything else. This will resolve itself after I move my cursor away from the open new tab button and the tooltip stops showing, even my inputs will appear there.

This quite annoying, especially when opening a tab to search for something quickly...

Every time i open Firefox a little window comes up and says for a fraction of a second that im using an older version of Firefox (Even though that i'm using the latest) and then it crashes. I've tried everything, from reinstalling, rebooting, making exceptions in the firewall and even manually installing Firefox, but nothing. Before anyone asks, i do not have AVG, Avast or Commodo, and the Firewall is the basic Windows one. The issue is very similar to this one:https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/970099. I also tried what they said, but unfortunately nothing woks for me.

So I'll stick with older version (9) until I decide to get new computer. Firefox is my preference, but if I update, it's likely to break again. Please tell me how to stop all update notices. Hi, my Firefox on Win10 doesn't work, I've been forced to go back to Chrome. After a crash in Win10, Firefox doesn't work anymore: it opens, be it launched by me or by other programs, but it just sits there, blank, doing nothing. It is impossible to interact with menus and everything. Task Manager shows two open instances of the browser, using RAM, but the browser doesn't do anything. It doesn't "crash" and it doesn't freeze, it just stays like that. If I quit it and try opening it again the PC tells me it's open already, and Task Manager shows a couple instances staying there after quitting it, as if it stayed stuck. I tried resetting it from the Apps settings of Windows, but nothing happened, I tried uninstalling it and then installing it again, but nothing happened. Restarting the PC a couple of times changed nothing. In the end, I had to go back to Chrome and even put it as default browser because all programs were calling up Firefox which stayed unresponsive. Anybody knows what I should do in a case like this?

I've been struggling with a very peculiar error with my Firefox in the last couple of weeks that I haven't managed to find a solution for. It's kinda disturbing and makes me want to stop using the whole thing, even though I'm a big fan of Firefox.

1.) The first sign of the error is the browser suddenly becoming partially unresponsive. The UI still works - as in, you can scroll down/up on open pages, navigate through menus, open/close tabs, etc. but no HTML content is loaded JS isn't running. First I thought this was just bad connection, but I had a stable internet connection and other browsers would load the same pages. 2.) At this point, when I try to close the whole app and restart it, I get a message that the browser is already running. The dialogue box also offers to force restart the app, which doesn't work (it stops the process but doesn't restart it, so I still have to manually launch the app). 3.) After manually launching after failed force restart, I'm getting another error message saying that I'm using an "old version of Firefox", due to which my old profile "might not work". I can either exit the app or create a new profile. From a new profile I can load profile manager but I'm unable to launch the other profile. However, indeed there is an app update pending. 4.) After the update is installed, the browser launches the new profile and and then from the profile manager I'm able to load the other profile, set is up as standard and remove all other profiles. After this step, all seems to be normal and Firefox keeps working without any issues until a next update is found, but then the whole issue starts from point 1.

First time I suspected that the profile is corrupted, so I deleted it and resynced the settings from my Firefox Account, but this has not helped, so I fully removed Firefox with all the data stored on the local drives and reinstalled it. Then the latest version was installed and the profile worked, so I presumed the issue to be resolved until a new update came. In the last month there's been at least 3-4 updates, all triggering this very peculiar issue issue. I was thinking this might be known so the devs would release a fix soon, but I couldn't find the same issue mentioned, so now I'm suspecting one of the add-ons acting up. However, since the issue only reproducible when an update is released, it would somewhat complicated and time-consuming to deduct which one is causing the error. Hence, asking question here as I'm wondering if anyone had encountered anything similar or could suggest any further steps to fix the error.
