Okay so I have started using Firefox recently and the only issue I have with it is that when I use YouTube randomly the YouTube icon near the nav bar keeps getting selected. I am not sure why it is doing this though. It seems like it is happening when I change tabs and then change back but is also seems to randomly do this.

I KEEP HITTING ALTERNATIVELY :"dismiss" and "delete from history" but some i have to do it 40 0r 50 times before it stops popping back up

Why is it Chrome you could have three extensions and still have high speed performance of chrome when loading, but when you have three extensions on firefox it loads slow when opening up the browser?

I asked this question some time back here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1362859 I'm asking again to reframe the question. The problem is - if my experience is a guide to the rest of the world - VTT files (which are used to caption HTML video) are no longer read/loaded by Firefox when it is viewing the HTML file locally (i.e. file://). On the web they are loaded as expected. Presumably there's a security setting somewhere in Firefox that now refuses to load the VTTs locally. Maybe under Help > More troubleshooting information there is a setting to change to fix that?

Hi I am trying to change the default homepage Firefox logo to my own, but i could find no tutorial on how to do that. I only found 7-9 year old posts, that did not work. So my question is: Is it possible to change the default firefox logo on the homepage to my own one, and if it is then how?

MS Edge works perfectly; why does Firefox get stuck in a "forever" loop during the Monrovia Website search? See the attached jpg.

upon enabling "do not connect to http" very, very, very often i got the attached error message when the site said it was https and it was very often reliable places like my bank and TaxAct. It seemed like such a good idea but i quit out of frustration.

Recently, i believe after i was forced to updated my firefox version, i started having graphical issues with Firefox. At first i thought it was maybe a GPU driver issue so i DDU'd all drivers on my PC and reinstalled them. Did not fix the issue. Tried rolling back Firefox, since thats a pain i only fought with it begging about corrupted bookmarks for a bit before giving up on that, Firefox 99 still did the same thing. Tried the same websites on Chrome and Edge, no issues. deleted all the data i could find for mozella and still the same issues with a fresh install of Firefox 100.0.2. Even trying to load this page drops text, adds colours to places and just overall a pain. I'm unsure if Firefox is kind of like Norton and when you ask it to uninstall it doesn't but are there anymore files to delete besides formatting this PC to get firefox working again? If i have to format the PC i may as well switch back to Chrome or try Edge since again this seems focused on Firefox on this PC.

I'll try to list what i've tried again to be clear: - Updated Graphics Drivers - did not fix - DDU'd graphics drivers and reinstalled - did not fix - Rolled FF to version 100 same issues - Rolled back FF to version 99, did not fix - uninstalled FF and deleted all traces of mozella in all directories, did no fix - Go to same websites in Chrome and Edge, no issues.

Unsure of what to try next besides formatting the PC.

The browser takes extremely long time to start-up. Task manager shows that it's trying to pull some 200mbs of data at the rate of 0.5mb\s or less. RAM is fine. HDD is old, but recently defragmented and, outside of <this> particular issue - it's not a problem. System is dusty, but system is system. For some reason virtually any other program launches more or less just fine. A particularly heavy game can pull gigabytes of data in about the same time that Firefox is bottlenecked to kilobyte speed.

It's not a conflict of start-ups, I have only the driver necessities in there. it's not a windows start-up issue, the browser can take as much time even a minute after windows is loaded. It's not a (anti)virus. Because I don't use either. It's not some 15 year old Celeron trying to handle W10, FX8320 should be able to handle opening a web browser. It's not a ton of extensions, and it's not even Firefox accounting, it happened before I registered. From extensions it's only ublock origin and VPN.

My personal three guesses are:

-More than 3-5 tabs on average, but, last I checked, the tabs aren't loaded upon start-up. And power users have sessions of dozens of tabs. -100-200 bookmarks. Again, not sure how hard is it to read a text data, unless it also has to load some thumbnails or icons or whatever. -Software aging.(Latest stable firefox, updates are on, and it has been running far less than this 4 year old system)

Reinstalling the system isn't a solution. Nor is reinstalling Firefox. Nor is dumping bookmarks, because otherwise why bookmark them. I'd just like to know why is Firefox limited to kilobyte speed of initial page loading. It can't be a damaged HDD cluster, otherwise I'd feel it outside of start-up.

With my limited knowledge of PC - it's usually a random read issue. Because like every memory benchmarks(HDD and RAM) can show hysterical speeds when loading\copying some 50gigs of a single file, if it's a few hundreds of thousands of small files - it becomes random and tanks. But what I don't understand why does Firefox have THAT much clutter? Is it really the bookmarks?

The Washington Post has a feature on some articles called "Listen", where the article is read aloud on the device audio. I often use this because my vision is not as good as it used to be, and I can listen while I perform other tasks (e.g., cook). I do use the Malwarebytes add-on, but it doesn't work even when I disable it and the FF tracking protection is turned off.

It does work in both Edge and Chrome, with Malwarebytes enabled.

This is very disappointing ...

I am unable to log onto easy jet in firefox, the site freezes. when i use opera i have had no problems. this has occurred since your last update. Can you help? Alan

I use a touch screen HP laptop. And when I shopping or just reading news and there is a picture on the page or site it pops up, even if I do not touch it. I can not see the text behind it. I know it is a setting some here because if i go to trouble shooting mode it does not happen. i have checked and unchecked every thing I can fine and nothing helps but trouble shooting mode. So when I close out and reopen Firefox trouble back. I have not tried other browsers because I only like Firefox

Random videos will not load following 100.0.2 install.

These symptoms started @ May 21. (See attached file "Recently installed")

Scrolling down the Reddit page, videos will auto-play when exposed, and stop when scrolled past.

A video not loading/playing will occur on different posts/videos, but will ALWAYS occur. Once this occurs some previously exposed / played videos, when scrolling up, will play when exposed again, and some will not.

This will also randomly occur on Youtube (also observed on Twitter a few times) when multiple tabs are open. Sometimes closing other open tabs corrects the problem. Other times closing Firefox and relaunching is required and is 100% effective.

I have additional diag data / Inspector log files and page source if needed.

If I wanted to use the navbar for search I'd set it up that way. I don't, and I'm getting really sick of doing this...

    type in searchBar "about:config"
   Accept warning
   Search "browser.urlbar.suggest.searches" and change it to false (Do this Only if you want to disable suggesions)
   Search "keyword.enabled" and change it to false
   Search "browser.fixup.alternate.enabled" and change it to false 

every time I open Firefox or a new tab in Firefox.

I'd like the option of not having it search in the navbar, ever. I search using Google. I like Google. I've been a big fan and supporter of Firefox for years, but this constantly having to deal with the search in the navbar thing, which I don't want it to do, is really turning me off of Firefox. I hate the Microsoft junk, Explorer and Edge, and I don't like Chrome either, but I'm getting really sick of Firefox trying to shove this Search via the navbar thing down my throat.

How do I disable navbar search permanently, or am I just stuck with redoing it every time I open Firefox or a new tab, at least until I get completely fed up and decide to give another browser a try at replacing Firefox?

The "Latest Tweets" header on twitter has recently started automatically scrolling and blocking whatever is shown on screen.

If I try to tweet, the screen appears to split and it is not possible to see the actual Tweet edit and post screen and the screen locks not able to move up or down.

This has only started in the past few days.

Can you help me to disable to scrolling of the sticky header?
