I often like to bookmark a website in multiple folders (e.g. School>Research and Work>Energy). I used to be able to do so by clicking the bookmark star as many times as I wanted and selecting the folder I wanted to save the page to and the page would show up in each folder I saved it to. Now for some reason, when I try to bookmark something in one folder it removes the bookmark from the other folders I saved it to. This is not good for me, why is it happening and how can I rectify this ridiculous change? Thank you.

How do I display bookmarks in a column on my screen; has disappeared recently; menu option seems to have disappeared. Firefox v 123 on Windows 10

I exported bookmarks to an HTML file from Firefox on a Win10 computer. Copied the file over to a new Win11 computer and then imported the bookmarks to a new installation of Firefox.

The bookmarks show up in the "library" that displays when I click on "manage bookmarks" but they do not appear in the toolbar at the top of the page. I don't see any way to get them to show up.

Can you tell me what I need to do? Thanks.

Last time I tried backing up my bookmarks, they were saved in a file that was basically a list, a list that can't be imported back to Firefox bookmarks, but just a list. I would like to know if there's a way to actually export and import bookmarks with one click, rather than me having to add 200 pages from the list manually. When I tried importing the file, the list ended up somewhere random and not where bookmarks are

After re-installing Firefox, my Bookmarks are gone. I could reinstall them as I go along, but my Folders (used to organize) are also gone. Worse: I cannot seem to figure out how to re-create folders or move those Bookmarks I have. Any suggestions.

Hi, I would like to export all my bookmarks once a day. This needs to happen automatically because it will be part of a bigger idea where I will be working with this file etc.

Is there any way to do this? For example: - do it using API directly in the Firefox Sync service? - do it via command line in Windows?

Hi. I'm trying to transfer Firefox bookmarks from a hard drive pulled from a now dead iMac (was IOS 10.13.4 + Firefox 116.6.0) to a MacBookPro laptop running BigSur (11.6.8) and Firefox 122.0.1. I have the iMac HDD plugged into a hot swap docking station. A search for places.sqlite on the old HD turns up nothing.

I have found answers for drilling down into Windows to find the appropriate files to transfer, but not for Mac. I didn't know Firefox Sync existed until now, and I don't know where to look for a profile on the hard drive. Suggestions?

Ok, this is going to be a bigger problem that I thought. The laptop is my wife's old university-owned mac, and there's a whole "admin" layer of hidden and mixed-up folders. I need to go see the admins for help.

I could not Copy and Paste a Bookmark until after closing and restarting Firefox 122.0.1. I have had a similar problem before and wanted to report this.

I included a screen shot after closing and restarting Firefox and I was able to perform the copy and paste the Bookmark. I was trying to copy the Bookmark titled FDA approves Xolair to treat . . . to the Allergies folder but could not, again until after closing and restarting Firefox.

Got a new MAC Trying to delete old bookmarks but no go. The old bookmarks used to be in "Other bookmarks" but now they only show up in "All bookmarks" and the Star will not let me activate the Delete Bookmark button

Before, when I started to write an address, firefox did not remember and I have to write it. That was fine. Now, it remembers everything and everything is kept in the history despite I close the private and open it again. Any other person can open the private again and see the last thing you were doing. No real private browsing, no fun

1. impossible to open bookmarks. nothing happens

2. all the shortcuts on my home page have disappeared while they are still chosen in preferences and it is not possible to add new ones. Again nothing happens when trying.

I am mainly concern about the possible loss of the links of the bookmarks. I already experienced a total loss of the history and I fear to go through something like that again.

Please solve this problem or help me if I can do it myself. I did a restart and a refresh but no change. Thank you

I wish to save my bookmarks in alphabetical order, first the folders and then any bookmarks that have not yet been allocated to a specific folder. This used to be possible as I gave reorganised the older bookmark folders are in alphabeical order previously. This seems to be no longer posible. I can reorganise them in View but cannot save them. New computer, new Firefox install. Old computer has the Library Icon in the upper right corner when the browser opens. I imported my bookmarks, but can't figure out how to get the Library Icon positioned.

I feel this can only be corrected by an adjustment to the version, am on 122.0.1 as the latest update. My O/S Linux Mint Mate v20.0.3. Have NOT been to any schooling or even just a class for any training, all done as my curiosity has driven me to learn on my own, Self-taught and have been working with CPU`s for over 35 years, I am 84...

Getting to this point has been a rather long drawn-out process that has been a bit confusing hope this info is acceptable.
