GODDAMN IT. Typed my info and some other link opens and wiped out everything I had typed here, that really pisses me off. Firefox is getting to be nothing but a damn headache now and I'm NOT going to try and retype all that info all over again and re-explain it, that's a load of horse manure, especially when my info typed SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN DELETED by some stupid automated crap! Spent too much time on this already and just WASTED my damn time!

I have been using my email address as IMAP in the past, I have since changed to POP and wanted to know how I can download all the email messages from the server that are in separate folders via pop and have them deleted after the download.

I have Thunderbird set to minimize to the task bar, but I often hit the X to close, as that's what I did with Eudora (which I sorely miss, Thunderbird is definitely subpar in comparison). After 6 months, I still find myself doing it. Is there a way to alert when I hit close? I'm not sure I want to download the add-on to minimize on close since it has unrestricted access.

How do I prevent firefox from redirecting to HTTPS when it can't find the HTTP website I typed into the address bar?
Background (please read) I run a website for my team at work off my local machine. It's just http, because it's local, and I don't need any fancy encryption schemes. I have no domain for it ... me and my users just type the local IP of my machine. Like this: http://10.111.111.11/myapp/login.php
To work from home, I set up a VPN tunnel thru my workplace firewall so I can hit the webserver on my local machine. If I forget to start the VPN tunnel on my remote machine and then try going to my website, I get an error message in firefox:
Unable to connect An error occurred during a connection to 10.111.111.11. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.
After receiving this message, Firefox changes the address in the address bar from what I typed to the same thing, only with "https" instead of "http". This drives me insane. How do I force Firefox to preserve what I typed in the address bar EXACTLY as I typed it?

One of the best features of Firefox over the years has always been the ability to add new tool bars. This was brilliant for storing your Add-on icons.
Is this gone now? If not, how do I go about adding new toolbars. Running Firefox MSIX-1.0. 111.0.1 64-bit. Windows MSIX package.

Hello, Last time I attempted to sync Firefox on my existing PC and Laptop, I ended up with only what was on the 'minor' of the 2 devices. How do I do the initial sync to ensure that the settings on my PC, my 'primary' computer, are moved to the Laptop (the secondary computer) and not the other way around? Thanks Chris

I just reinstalled Windows and Thunderbird, and am trying to use my previous profile and files. My files were previously stored in c:\Thunderbird, rather than the default location.
With TB closed, I opened the Profile Manager, clicked Create Profile, changed the location to c:\Thunderbird, and then click Create Profile. I left it set as the default profile.
However, when I open Thunderbird, I'm at the startup screen, where it's asking me to enter my email address. None of my files are visible.
I then deleted the profile (but left the files intact), and used the default profile. When I entered Thunderbird, I clicked Import, then Import from another Thunderbird installation, then Choose a profile folder, and then I selected c:\Thunderbird. I left all boxes under "What to import" checked, and clicked Continue and then Start Import.
Got a message: "Import failed unexpectedly, more infomration may be available in the error console."
I then tried it again, leaving only "Accounts and settings" checked. Same message.
Going into the error console, the message is this: "Uncaught (in promise) DOMException: Could not open the file at C:\Thunderbird\prefs.js".
I then went into C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\ and deleted the Thunderbird folder and tried the import again, as well as the creating of the profile again. Same results.
Any ideas about what I could do?
Thanks!

I'm not sure whether it happens at current version of Firefox or already happened previously, but if you close your Firefox main window without closing your Private window first, all your session tabs will be lost when we launch Firefox again. Is there any way to recover my previous tabs?

I have 2 financial websites that I am unable to use Firefox on and I have to use Chrome. The site are Fidelity Financial and Jackson National. When logged into the website I must select certain links to see the information I am seeking. When selected, Firefox does nothing, it stays on the page with the link I selected. I do not have pop-ups blocked and cannot find the reason for the fault.

Ever since about 2 Firefox updates ago, I cannot share articles to Twitter using Firefox. When I share, the Tweet dialogue box pops up showing the article, but the sidebar on the right side of the box (the one needed to scroll down the message to the Tweet button) is greyed out and no amount of clicking, trying to drag, etc., will get it going.
I cannot replicate this problem on Edge, as that browser works seamlessly when sharing articles to Twitter and I am able to scroll down to the Tweet button with no problem. Same with Chrome, I have no problem there, either.
This seems to be a Firefox problem and I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I have not changed any of my Firefox settings. I've disabled all of my extensions and it still doesn't work. I find myself using other browsers more and more as with each Firefox update there seems to be more technical bugs that aren't being fixed.
But I use Twitter often, so this is a significant problem for me. Any reasonable suggestions?
