The "about:" page - mozilla and release notes links are gone - why?

I use the "about:" page as my home page (have been since Netscape 4.6 :-)). The Firefox variants used to contain a link to Mozilla, via the image, that I used for a quick check of the current Firefox release. It also contained a link to the release notes. The links are not there anymore. I was wondering why?
