I badly need efficient bookmark handling and, if possible, synch across machines and other browsers. I'm a web dev so I do sometimes end up using another browser and wanting access to my current bookmarks when doing that. Xmarks and Andy Halford's SortPlaces extension worked superbly and together on FF21, but both seem to have fatal problems in FF22. There's also a minor issue with file inputs on dark websites in FF22. I can't see any reason to re-upgrade that would compensate for the lack of bookmark sorting and storing that I have, hassle free, with FF21. Firefox is still my preferred browser, thanks to the bookmarking extensions and the WebDeveloper toolbar (both of which I paid something towards), but Chrome seems to sort bookmarks pretty easily these days.

Note that this would make you vulnerable to security issues that have been fixed:

What do you not like about Firefox 22 that makes you want to downgrade?

I want to go back to 21 as well. The "plain favorites" add on allowing me to use my IE Favorites does not work with FF22. How do I reinstall 21?

Version 1.3

  • Compatibility with Firefox 22

Hi greenwomon

Could you please start a new thread instead as you seem to have a different problem

Then you can provide more information like your operating system and installed extensions and installed plugins.

In case of crashes also please add some recent crash IDs that you can find on the about:crashes page and that start with a "bp-" prefix

You can modify the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref to adjust the size of all elements including the fonts in Firefox.

  • The layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements (user interface and web pages) more precisely (resolution 0.1 or 0.05 for finer adjustments).
  • Change the current default value -1.0 to 1.0 to make it work like in previous Firefox versions (100%)

You can make further adjustments and start with a value of 1.0 and adjust this value with 0.1 steps or 0.05 for finer adjustments to make icons on the toolbars look right.

  • Use values between 1.0 and about 0.5 to reduce elements in size (do NOT go all the way to 0.05!)
  • Use values greater than 1.0 to magnify and make elements larger (percentage divided by DPI, % / DPI).

If web pages needs to be adjusted after changing this pref then you can look at the Default FullZoom Level or NoSquint extension.

Use this extension to adjust the font size for the user interface:

Is there a way to re-install Firefox 21 without hitting the "upgrade" button during the installation process. Because when you do, the darn thing upgrades back to 22 the next time you reload. Changing the upgrade function in "advanced" doesn't stop it.

Hi SqueekyFromm, I haven't heard of this before. Are you using the "full" installer or the "stub" installer?

Why do you want to install Firefox 21?

I have noticed that when FF updates, frequently the RealPlayer download button stops popping up. FF22 wasn't my first rodeo with this particular bronco.

I figured out how to make FF21 load, and then not automatically update when restarted. I went to Tools>Update, and clicked the Never Update box, and unclicked the Background Update box, also.

I like to download videos because that way, I can still watch my favorites when the internet is down, which with Comcast, it is a lot. I just now had to re-type this reply, because the Internet got dropped before I could hit "Post Reply" Plus, if you download the videos, you don't get 97 interruptions from Youtube while a 4 minute video is playing. That is why this is a very important feature for me. Of course, now Youtube is encoding many videos as MP4 with something special to keep you from downloading them. But many still download just fine.

But, Thank You for asking!!!
