I have Netzero dial-up, I know there are a lot better ISPs out there, but I live in a very remote area and they are just not available. It is slower than slow, and each time I request a new phone number perhaps with less users, I'm told to try Mozilla Firefox for better and faster browsing. It"s virtually impossible to download the complete package that I need and was wondering if a CD is available for downloading. I have very little time on the internet, but I am trying to run a small business from my shop located on my residence. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and welcome.

Mozilla doesn't mail out CDs. If you can get to a library with higher speed internet, you could download the Firefox installer to a USB flash drive... or maybe a computer store would lend a hand?

Honestly, I'm not sure you will notice much difference if the main constraint is your internet connection. IE 9 and 10 already draw pages quite quickly.

The Firefox advantage really is the large library of add-ons. To really control what is loading in Firefox (e.g., block Flash from running until you approve it, or block ads), you probably will need to try out several, which would involve additional up front downloads.

Well, I use Linux operating system with Firefox, and I have dial-up, too. A 65mb file would take my isp about 4 hours. If available in your area, check out dialup4less, located in San Diego area with lots of available service areas across the USA. I'm using them currently, have been for the past two years. You get 5 hours of download time before you are disconnected. Most dial-up isps offer 4 hours. Prior to my current isp, I was using basicisp dot net, I believe they are located in Ohio. They offer 4 hours time. The speeds for both are pretty good for a 56k multitechzba usb modem. I make sure to disable many things while using any browser, like extensions, which I never use, and sometimes disabling javascript makes surfing faster, though most pages will need it to fully function.

With large downloads where I want to be able to resume a disconnected partial file, I use wget in command prompt (easy to learn how to use wget if you do a search on usage) which is found in most all Linux operating systems. Kget is a front end, graphical user interface for wget and also works well. I believe both are available for Windows OS. Another good option for Windows is Flashget download manager, which also offers resuming of partial downloads.
