I cannot use Firefox 11 for Mac because it does not yet support a security add-on that I require. So I want to downgrade to Firefox 10 for Mac in both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

However, I have been unable to find the URL from which I can download these two versions of Firefox 10 for Mac. Yes, I tried putting various keywords into the search box: "download" "Firefox" "previous versions" "downgrade" etc. Still I couldn't locate the URL.

Would you be so kind as to send me the URL?

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

I found my own answer. This answer works for all versions of Firefox, not only for version 10, not only for the Mac.

The URL is ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org.../releases/. From that URL, you then navigate to the directory (aka subfolder) for the version that you wish to download.

Of course, you need to know how to download from an ftp:// URL.

Hi, gregbaka, sorry for delay in replying: I've been busy.

It turns out that something was wrong with the URL I posted above, three days ago. I've fixed it now, so here's a step-by-step account of how to download using FTP. In this account, I've assumed you are using browser Safari 5.1.4 for Mac; but the steps would be similar for most browsers. I've also assumed you want to download Firefox 10.0.2 for Mac with the US English interface; but, again, the steps would be similar for another target version.

  1. Open Safari.
  2. In Safari, navigate to URL ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/.
  3. Scroll down the screen until you see the icon of a file folder next to the numbers 10.0.2.
  4. Single click on the file folder icon. Safari should navigate to URL ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/10.0.2/ .
  5. Single click on the icon of the file folder next to the word mac. Safari should navigate to URL ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/10.0.2/mac/ .
  6. Single click on the icon of the file folder next to the word en-US . Safari should navigate to URL ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/10.0.2/mac/en-US/ . (Are you beginning to see a pattern here?  :) )
  7. Right-click on the icon next to the words Firefox 10.0.2.dmg .
  8. In the drop-down menu, click on the words Save link as....
  9. Safari should open up a Finder-like window with the title bar Save As. The first field in this window should say, Save as: Firefox 10.0.2.dmg.
  10. Navigate to the folder or directory where you want to save the installation file.
  11. Click the Save button.

Let me know if that works for you.
