Since upgrading to FF V10.0 I can't open certain pages and FF closes/crashes upon loading a new page in a second tab.

FF won't open at all while having 2 startpages, even in safe mode.

No crash report submitted. the last crash report was in V9.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

If you have submitted Breakpad crash reports then post the IDs of one or more Breakpad crash reports (bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx). You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page. You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website.

Swarnava,

Thanks for your reply. I had to try this at the office. That's why I couldn't get back earlier.

I tried your suggestion but it did not work out. The problems remained the same, even running FF in safe mode. Made a backup of the profiles with MozBackup.

I then removed FF completely from my system using Revo Uninstaller. Upon opening Revo I found out that I had FF5.0 still in the background on my system, so I removed both. Even a clean install of FF10.0 after a reboot did not result in any improvement.

It looks like FF can't open (any) flash pages, even though I succeeded in installing Adobe Flash player 11. It also appeared that loading none-flash-pages from the bookmarks worked until I tried to load the third page. At that point FF closed/crashed.

Are there any knows conflicts e.g. with Thunderbird9.0, IE or any other program?

I found me a FF9.0.1 download and installed that, restored my default profile and continued working like I did before.

I sincerely hope that someone can give me/us some hints of what might ne wrong. I can hardly believe that I and six others) are the only ones that encounter this problem.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
