FF 9 beachballs after launch. Why?

After I launch either FF 9 and then place my cursor in the menu bar, I get beachballing.....the spinning multicolored pinwheel for from 4 to 10 seconds. When I had them installed earlier, I didn't experience this issue, but after reinstalling FF 9 , this issue appeared.

OK, I think that I've fixed the problem. I uninstalled Personas Plus add-on and the beachballing has stopped.

I spoke too soon.....the beachballing continues. Placing my cursor in FF's menu bar does it nearly every time. It stopped for a little while after I removed Personas Plus but then began again. I tried deleting all FF's files and reinstalling FF 9 several times but still no joy. Mac w/OS10.6.8
