I downloaded firefox 7 which i thought it was # 8 any way, every time i open firefox i have a button asking to restore my last session which closed with out any problems. fore fox 3.6.23 only did this if some thing was sticking with some pages opened. but after i closed it was gone, whose bright idea was it it keep the stupid button opening or asking me to restore? i guess fire fox up grades after 3.6.23 are proving to be very bad you need to fix this or i go back to 3.6.23 where i had very few problems.

Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.

Firefox 4+ versions use a new build-in home page named about:home with a Google search bar on it (no internet access needed to load that page).
That about:home page only shows some snippets and has a button to restore the previous session if applicable.

If you want a home page without the Restore Previous Session then set another page as the home page like www.google.com used in Firefox 3 versions.

Ok been there done that but the button is still there. and useless and should not be there period. and because of that stupid button i removed my new firefox and went back to my far superior browser 3.6.23 also i do not like all of the new doodads. they are useless and stupid.

Did you consider to set another page as the home page?

well the last one worked after re-downloading firefox 7 it opened but that restore button was gone. i opened it 19 times it was gone, then one more time it came back. but after following your suggestions and the instructions to change my home page it went away thanks a million (not dollars.) sorry. Stan.
