In earlier versions I was able to block the English language in the browser address bar. Can I restore this feature in the new, the seventh version of the browser?

I'm do not understand what you mean.

Can you give an example?

Do you mean this?

  • Tools > Options > Content: Languages->Choose

Or do you want to see IDN names in the local language and not as puny code?

Hi! I meant this: I use the Russian version of Firefox, and almost always use the Russian language when using the browser. But typing the web address in the address bar should be in Latin. In the previous version of Firefox in the address bar on the right was a padlock icon (I attach two files with the image of the former and the current browser address line type). Is much easier to work without having to switch every time to the Latin alphabet with a set of web addresses.

Such an icon can only be added by an extension.

Do you have an extension in that other version that has stopped working?

Hi! It was not the expansion - it was a built-in function in Firefox's Russian localization. I ran the browser in safe mode - the lock icon in the address bar does not appear.

Are you sure about that?

I see what looks like a default Russian about:home Home page with the Yandex (Яндекс) search page in the first screenshot, but that page also show previews of pages that are added by an extension and that are not part of Firefox. So that icon on the location bar may have been added in a similar way.

Did you install that Firefox version from the Mozilla server or a branded version from another source?
