This message appears also. 684748 NEW (Mostly) 6.0.1 crashes with IdVault

Comcast has provided an id vault to all of its customers so this will continue unless there is a fix on Firefox. Is there any thing in the works?

There is a Bug filed about it. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=684748
(Please don't comment in that Bug report unless you can provide a patch to fix the problem.) https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=etiquette.html

You might want to see of today's 6.0.2 update helped with those crashes.

A developer posted about adding that plugin to the blocklist, which will disable it in Firefox. Looks like Comcast is going to have to get the Constant Guard developers to work on a fix for that issue. You might want to voice your concerns about that problem in the Comcast support forum for Constant Guard.

No. The 6.0.2 update did not resolve the problem. Firefox has crashed for me 10 times today so far.

By the way, prior to 6.0.1, when I used Comcast's "Constant Guard" (which is where the IDVault is), I did not experience these crashes.

It's probably comforting to point the finger at Comcast, but the problem originated with 6.0.1, not with Constant Guard.

Apparently (bug comment) Idvault's software development team are aware of the problem and working on a fix.

I use comcast but Firefox has not been stable for me. Still waiting on a fix???????

Maybe Comcast or Whitesky have published info somewhere, I do not use the software myself or any forums they may have.

I imagine the problem is not with the core product but with a utility/toolbar used to store ID information.

ill try and do that and if anthing maby i can make an add on to reslove that problem

I did not have any problem with crashes (no crashes at all) until I upgraded Firefox with the latest version, so I have to agree it isn't Comcast's issue. Now it crashes multiple times a day. I really don't want to go to Internet Explorer, but this is more than a little annoying!

Hi barbarawheele,
May I suggest you start your own thread about your own problem by asking a new question, you may well have a different problem causing your firefox 6 to crash.

A known issue causing a lot of firefox 6 crashes is a particular Trojan, and that malware, also affects other browsers, including Internet Explorer. If you have the Trojan on your system you are taking risks, the particular trojan does not actually crash Firefox 5 but caused other problems. (Possibly you are at greater risk with a browser that does not crash if you have malware)

IDVault UPDATE possible fix (as at 20th Sept bug68478 c23-6)
Version 1.0.627 contains a potential fix, but standalone version 5.9.627 has not yet been fixed
