You are up to date today at 4.0.1, after June 21st Firefox 5.0 will be out

You can see the user agent string in Firefox through Help ("Alt+H") > Troubleshooting information...

or you can type the following into the location bar (address bar) javascript:alert(navigator.userAgent);window.location.reload(true);

You an bring up http://www.mozilla.com as a secure page https://www.mozilla.com and by clicking on the favicon at the left end of the location bar you can bring up security information

A couple of easy ways to check version number -

  • Help(Firefox button or Menu Bar)>About Firefox, or
  • Options >Advanced>Show Update History(little box at the bottom).

This is Fx4.0.1 on Win 7 but it should be similar on XP.
