Why is firefox saying closing down, when I go on certain sites

I go to my bookmark page to open certain sites like, E Bay, Yahoo mail, Read the newspaper on The Daily mail site. I get up a little box that says firefox is closing down, and is checking for the problem, I never seem to find out what the problem is or how to fix it.This problem only seemed to start the other day.I logged, in and my home page had seem to change, The toolbar icons that I had on the left hand side of the screen now seem to be on the right side of the screen. Please can you help me. Thanks
