I have an IBOOK G4 When I try to update new version of ff the file comes up as unable to mount.
The new version of firefox can not be updated. It downloads just fine. But when I open the file it says file can not be mounted. I don't know what to do.

What version of OS X do you have?
If you have OS X 10.3.9 or earlier, the last version of Firefox you can use is Firefox 2.0.0.20
Firefox 3.5.* and 3.6.* require at least OS X 10.4, and Firefox 4 will require OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

Well, I know the computer ibook was purchased in 2004. So I'm not sure I have a version of osX. Are you saying I need a new computer.
As you are currently using Firefox 2.0.0.20, you will be using at least OS X 10.2 which is the minimum version of OS X that it needs. As your iBook was purchased in 2004 it may be using OS X 10.3 (OS X 10.3 was released in 2003).
OS X 10.4 was released in 2005. You are unlikely to be able to run a newer version of Firefox than 2.0.0.20, which you are currently using.
