I went to the Morningstar.com website and at the top of the webpage there is a Firefox message saying that Firefox has prevented a redirect to another page and asking if you want to allow.

Just saying that is what I am seeing at morningstar.com

Thanks for the answer, indeed Morningstar.com does not pose the problem, but Morningstar.nl does. The FF version in question does not recognize the default.aspx files.

No problems here with such a link:

See "Reset Download Actions": http://kb.mozillazine.org/File_types_and_download_actions
.....

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Same problem with firefox 9.0.1. Cleared the cache and removed cookies but doesnt help. Also in safe mode can't open the www.morningstar.nl site. Some other .aspx sites work.

What is your Operating System and which Firefox version do you use?

We've seen this issue reported because servers didn't recognize the user agent and send files with a wrong MIME type because of that?

You can find the user agent on the Help > Troubleshooting Information page.
