I have tried to instal Firefox on my PC but the first page that opens just says : The Proxy Server is Refusing Connections. Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.

 - Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct
 - Contact your network administratorto make sure the proxy server is working
Try Again ( button ) does not work.

I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it twice more but it gives me this page every time I try to run it.

I have a screenshot of this page but I can't see how to send it to you. I don't know how to check the proxy settings. Can you please help ? Thank you.

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings". You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy"

See "Firefox connection settings":

Dear Cor-el, Thank you for your reply. I am having some other trouble with my computer at the moment but, when it is fixed, I will try to download Firefox again using your instructions. Much appereciated. David Dale.
