Since a couple of weeks Firefox 3.6.10 and Internet Explorer 8.0.6001 on my PC (Windows XP SP3) usually start in about 20 seconds. Before they started much faster. Now, sometimes after several hours or a period of standby, they start again spontaneouly in 2 seconds. But after such a period of fast starts and shutdown/reboot of the PC they again start slow. No other program on the PC shows this odd behaviour. How could fast start be restored? Thank's for any ideas.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.0.8, Ant.com Toolbar 1.3

You have or had an extension installed (Ant.com Toolbar) that has changed the user agent from Firefox/3.6.x to Firefox/3.0.x.

You can see the Firefox version at the top and the user agent at bottom of the "Help > About" window (Mac: Firefox > About Mozilla Firefox).
You check (compare) what websites see: http://whatsmyuseragent.com/ - Whats My User Agent?

You can check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page.
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website.
Filter: general.useragent
If general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose Reset.
