Hello. I am running Thunderbird (not sure which version) on Windows 7 to access my email on my laptop.

My email account is with British Telecom (BT) who use Microsoft 365 (operated by 21Vianet). I have been told, rather late I think, that my Domain Name emails (which comprise the majority) will now only work after 31 October 2022 if I have OAuth 2.0 authentication rather than POP.

I tried changing the server security setting on Thunderbird to OAuth2 but when I tried to access my email I was told that OAuth2 would not work with the server and I should change back to Normal password.

I am not sure if the latest version of Thunderbird will work on my operating system, although the current version offers OAuth2 as a security verification. Is there something I can do to continue getting my email via Thunderbird rather than using the cumbersome Outlook. I use Outlook on my mobile and assume this will work when the changes take place. Maybe I am missing out something in the Settings.

Thank you, best regards

Denis

As the current version supports windows 7, I think the answer should be obvious. https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/102.0/system-requirements/
