Please tell me how to make the apps coordinate again. When I click a link in an email, FireFox Nightly opens the link. When I attempt to return to TB, it is not in the task bar and Alt Tab does not show it. Task Manager shows TB but Switch To is greyed out. If I attempt to return to N, it is not in the task bar, is in TM and Switch To is greyed out. Both are fully updated, I ran SFC /scannow which did not find corruption.

I can not access safe mode because it does not offer pin as an option and I have had too many password problems with Microsoft.

Sounds like you have more issues that Thunderbird then. If you are unable to access safe mode you may need to take the device to a professional who can.

That sounds like something that might be caused by third party software like an anti virus.

I suggest you try restarting your operating system in safe mode with networking and see if it persists.

I am 75 years old, with many passwords saved in a file. But Microsoft has hassled me too many times and I made too many changes, can not sort them out. Safe Mode demands a password. I could use SM if it would accept my pin.

Microsoft never fails to frustrate. They did not tell me that they changed safe Mode. I invoked it with Tweaking and it took my pin. TB & N worked normally. I made soe repairs with Tweaking and the problem appears to be solved. Thanks for your help!!!
