Garbled message retrieval

Many messages retrieved from my live.com accounts just show a lot of HTML gobbledygook and I have to browse to my accounts to read them. Also, some are messages I want to copy to another folder in Tbird and save. Is there any way to force Tbird to re-retrieve a message that doesn't download properly?

Thanks, Chris C.

Edit> I should mention that my workaround is to access my account on line and forward the message to myself, but that wrecks the date-time sequencing. Seems like there must be a better solution?

Right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button.

Thanks Matt - I see that I have that option on my custom folders but not on my unified inbox?

you might also need to rebuild the global index. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/rebuilding-global-database

But generally the unified folders are generated virtually from the the "real" folders. I am guessing you are calling them custom. So the real inbox for the live account should be showing the same garbled appearance and once fixed be reflected in the unified folders.

Thanks again - I only looked at a custom folder, I didn't "un-unify" to look at a standard folder, but assumed that would work also.. But that's not something I'd want to have to do every time a message gets garbled.
