either i am stupid or did not understand in the left hand side it does not say calendar and in view it is greyed out and i still see the today's pane in the status bar i do not need or use the calendar
Go to the Calendar tab and delete ALL calendars. When you have only one calendar remaining and it doesn't let you delete it, right-click the calendar, select Properties and untick the checkbox that enables that calendar. The today pane won't show up when there are no active calendars.
no cladendar tab
is it in the upper right i do not see properties
if this is what you are referring too there is no properties

Click that Calendar icon, the Calendar tab will open.
guess i am just not getting i appreciate your patients
Look at the attached screenshot. The red arrow points at the Calendar icon. If you hover your mouse pointer on it, it says switch to the calendar tab. Left-click on it and the Calendar tab will open. In that tab, in the left pane, your calendars will be listed. Right-click each calendar listed there and delete them.
i did that and it did not work but thanks any way'
this is what it shows
it is ok sorry to bother you with this i just would rather not have it there
You turned off the Calendar pane. Turn it back on as follows:
Go to the View menu → Calendar → Calendar Pane → Show Calendar Pane. Make sure it's ticked. With the Calendar Pane visible on the left of the Calendar tab, you should see a list of Calendars, with at least one calendar listed.
just says calendar and home no cllendar listed
That "home" is a calendar. Disable it.
i have a snipped file of what i see when i do it but when I try to ad image it will not go do not know how to take a screen shot
You have to right-click that home calendar, select Properties and untick that checkbox that enables it.
yup that did it thanks i finnaly got it
it worked i am so sorry for being so inept thank you so very much i appreciate it all your time effort and patients'
