I would like firefox to never restore the last session / never remember open tabs
Hello everyone,
I believe I asked this about a year back, and the answer is that is wasn't possible.
I would like a specific behaviour on firefox. That, whenever I open it, it does the exact same thing. It opens a single new window. That it never ever tries to restore the last session. That it always starts fresh.
Preferably even if it "crashed", I tend not to close the browser but shut down with the tabs and apps open.
Intuitively this sounds to me like it should be easy to set, but I haven't been able to find a way.
Also, if possible I would like the rest of history to work. I find that history is useful, it's the session specifically I'd like it to forget / not try to resotre.
Thanks,
Sashin

Hi Sashin, I'm not aware that anything has changed with the Linux auto-resume feature from six months ago: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1323484. Maybe someone else has a new idea on that.
For crashing, though, you can prevent automatic restoration:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the preference to switch the value from true to false
