What does Edge and Firefox have to do with the Thunderbird issue you are reporting?

Hi,

My default browser is "Thunderbird" (part of "FireFox"). "PayPal" helpdesk asked me to log in via eg. "EDGE" to see if there might be restrictions "on the line" that make 2-way communication impossible.

Hi Guus Are you sure you are using Thunderbird as a browser? It is an email client, can be used for news feeds and newsgroups, or chat, but it does not to the best of my knowledge, browse the Internet. It is not the same kind of software as Edge or Firefox. It is not part of Firefox. However this support site is hosted by Mozilla, which is the parent company/foundation behind Firefox. You will find a separate Firefox support team on this Mozilla platform, if your problem is actually with the Firefox browser. If it is truly with Thunderbird, please give more details about how you are using it to interact with PayPal?

Further - if you are talking about email that does not arrive in Thunderbird, do those messages arrive all right in the Webmail of your email provider - meaning, in the online inbox? Log in online and check. Emails should arrive there first, and then be downloaded to Thunderbird, so if they never arrive in your online mail, they cannot be downloaded to Thunderbird. I hope this helps shed some light. Agnes

No, Thunderbird is a mail program. IT was once developed by Mozilla but they left it to the community years ago. Firefox is the browser that Mozilla makes. Like edge and chrome it is for viewing web pages, including accessing web mail

"PayPal" helpdesk asked me to log in via eg. "EDGE" to see if there might be restrictions "on the line" that make 2-way communication impossible.

Log into what? If you mean the paypal web site I am seeing less and less that this is related to Thunderbird at all.

If they are asking you to access your web mail Vs getting mail in Thunderbird then I begin to comprehend. But I am still confused.
