Dealing with open tabs on 2 screens. Problem when closing one.

Hi. I have an annoying problem. I have my TV hooked to computer and have 1 tab of firefox on the tv screen and 1 on the computer. My computer is the main screen. The problem is if i close the tab on the computer i cant get a new one up unless i go over to the tv and start that and drag a tab from that window back over to the computer screen. Any way to prevent that? Can i run 2 different applications, one on each screen or can i do so my computer only recognize that one screen is being used when the other one is turned of? Because it also sometimes open new windows of other applications on my tv even if its turned of and pc is set to main screen.
