Can't add student email account

I keep trying to add my university email in Thunderbird but I always get an error. It says that the username and/or the password are incorrect, which are not. I contacted my university and apparently they have no input that could help me on this.

Is the mail system based on gmail or Office365? Setting the authentication method to OAuth2 might work.

It's Office365. Where do I change the authentication method to OAuth2?

The authentication method is next to connection security in the account setup window. Here are instructions that might help for setting up at your institution: https://kb.wisc.edu/helpdesk/page.php?id=102005

I tried following all the steps, but in the end, after typing my password I get the following error: "Authentication failure while connecting to server outlook.office365.com".

Which university is it, and does it give instructions for setting up email clients, other than Outlook? It may be that IMAP and SMTP have not been enabled, only Exchange, in which case you would need the ExQuilla or Owl add-on.

Hmm, I got it to work with ExQuilla, but unfortunately it's a paid service and I'll have to pay for a subscription in 1 month. I'll probably end up using my browser to access this account.
