How can I copy a URL exactly without added material being put onto it, to post a pointer to a page?
I open a page and want to copy the URL to send it to someone or post it as a reference on another page. When I do, a whole lot of excess text gets added to the URL.

What you could do is mark the test, then copy it (not copy link).
Hi Hank, this seems similar to how Google search results links change to tracking links when you "mouse down" on them.
If you have the patience to load the link, you could copy the final destination URL from the address bar.
There also are extensions for cleaning links to remove this kind of tracking change, but I don't have any experience with Facebook cleaners (only a Google link cleaner).
