Cannot reply to emails

Hi, for the last couple of days I have been unable to reply directly to emails. I hit the reply button, which works, and type, which works. But as soon as I press "return", for a new paragraph, it deletes everything I have written! I have closed Mozilla down and tried again, restarted my PC, all to no avail. I have not uninstalled/reinstalled Mozilla though as that's too much hassle as I still have my main server to send/receive emails.

Any ideas?

Today it seems to have escalated slightly - my main server proves I have received new emails but these are not showing in Mozilla, which they should be. Mozilla seems to just continually try to load ... and load ... and load, but fails. Again, I closed it to re-open it, but this didn't work. Any ideas?
