Firefox had been loading slow for a while but I just ignored it. Yesterday a dialog box opened up and said I should refresh as it was loading slow. I went ahead and did that and when Firefox reopened it went to a Firefox home page with a search bar in it. See attached. I wanted to reinstall my extensions so I went to the extension page and it looked like next image. I went ahead and searched for Lastpass anyways and the link given opened a page with the cert is no good dialog. I tried to do the add exception but it would not work it opened the same bad cert page but had no add exception button available. When trying other websites to see if they were affected they were they were either bad cert (which happened the most) or they had their graphics messed up like the other image of the addons search page I uploaded for y'all I am running windows 10 and sending this unfortunately using Explorer :(

Oh I thought about uninstalling and reinstalling but I really do not want to loose all of my bookmarks, password etc

Tank you for your assistance with this matter.

You may have security software that acts like a man-in-the-middle and sends it own certificate to certificate. When you refresh Firefox then you lose certificates that were previously present in Firefox.

Try to copy cert9.db from the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop to the current profile folder. This files stores certificate.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Thank you Cor-el for your assistance.

I worked through your recommendations and now for the most part Firefox is working. Went through the whole trying to restore profile and had all kinds of problems. Windows could not start the profile manager, could not find the profile file on my pc and everything else seemed to go belly up. I turned of Kasperskys cert tool and then things seemed to work but no favorites and no passwords. Then Firefox wanted to update so we did that after I had copied and pasted from the old to the existing profile file that I found. Then updated an restarted, no bookmarks and no passwords so I went in and individually copied and pasted the needed files and the bookmarks appeared upon restart but still no passwords. I guess it is good save as I do use Lastpass for my primary password manager. I had just been using Firefox of late to keep track of some of them for me. I am using Firefox right now so I guess it is a win and I do not have to use the explore or edge or whatever it is ;)

Sorry forgot something. Why does the Kaspersky cert tool not work after a refresh? It was working just fine before the refresh and now even with the update to the latest version of Firefox if I engage it I get the cert bad response from most pages. I do not understand why it was working before the refresh and will not work after. Could you give me a clue as to why? Tanks Xcntrk
