About 2 weeks ago, a few websites would not open when I tried to access a link with Firefox as the set browser to open via the site. I brushed this off as I probably shouldn't spend work time reading mildly related articles. Yesterday, I was unable to use components of my web based work system and I'm unable to access Google, Comcast, Gmail...and the list goes on and on. I investigated via Chrome which does not work with all components of my system either and is just not my preferred browser. I found a few help options including reinstalling Firefox 56.0.2 and something about config.whatever and look for bolded words. The re-installation did not solve the issue and nothing from the queried list was in bold. And, now - I only see the following error message:

Your connection is not secure

The owner of www.google.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox may only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

That means there is a problem with the website certificates.

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connection certificates and send their own.
