I am being sent messages from firefox saying I need to update Firefox, and that I can't until I buy a new system, a new laptop? I have a macbook pro with all my photography programs on, (Im a photographer) fully functioning, world travelled, RAM'd up and wonderful. I have just been ejected from communicating with friends around the world with Skype because they too want me to chuck out my working Mac Book Pro, buy a new one at around £1000, buy the extra Ram I'll need for it, and spend hours/days loading up all my existing programs, links and functions to bring it up to the speck of the one I am using happily now, just so I can keep using Firefox? Is Firefox wanting to get rid of poor people?

Hello, that seems to be a scam. I hope you hadn't pressed anything, otherwise reference topic three. Topic One: if you still have these notifications often, and have the website url and or page. You can report it here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/about/legal/fraud-report/ Topic Two: to prevent these pesky and annoying incidents, I'd suggest getting an ad-blocker. Here's one that most contributors have: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ Topic Three: If you have clicked anything that was threatening, I'd fully suggest a Malware and AdWare scan. MalwareBytes provides both and can be found here: https://www.malwarebytes.com/products/ https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/
